Authorising someone to make provisional Wajong benefit arrangements for you
If you start doing paid work, or change the number of hours you work, this will affect your Wajong benefit level. We might not be able to determine immediately what your exact benefit level should be based on your new earnings. If this is the case, we will establish a provisional benefit payment (‘voorschot’) with you. You can authorise someone else to work out these details with us if you prefer.
How to authorise someone to make provisional benefit arrangements for you
If you would prefer to have someone else, such as a parent or guardian, work out the details of your provisional benefit payment, you can authorise them to do so. Just let us know that this is what you want when we call you to discuss the provisional benefit payment.
We will then send you a letter asking you to complete the Authorisation form for making Wajong benefit arrangements based on earnings from work (‘Verrekening van inkomsten uit werk met Wajong-uitkering’). You will need either a DigiD account or a valid European electronic ID (‘Europees erkend inlogmiddel’) to access this online form.
After completing the form, sign it and return it to us within 2 weeks from the date you received our letter.
How your provisional benefit payment is calculated
To calculate your provisional benefit payment, we first estimate your earnings from work for the next 6 months. This estimate helps us establish an initial provisional benefit amount, which we will finalise during our call with you.
You will usually receive the provisional benefit payment for the first 6 months of your new work situation. However, in certain cases, this period may be shortened to 3 months.
If you were paid too little or too much
Once the provisional benefit payment period comes to an end, your definitive Wajong benefit will be calculated based on your actual earnings. There are 3 possible outcomes that could follow:
- Your provisional benefit payment was correct and your payments will continue as before without any adjustments.
- Your provisional benefit payment was lower than it should have been and you will be paid the additional amount you are owed.
- Your provisional benefit payment was higher than it should have been and you will need to repay this extra amount. We will then call you to arrange a payment plan with you. If you would prefer to have someone else arrange this payment plan with us, complete the Authorisation form for making Wajong benefit arrangements based on earnings from work.
Removing or changing an authorisation
If you no longer want your authorised person to act on your behalf regarding the provisional benefit payment, you can remove their authorisation. Or, if you would prefer to have someone else take over your provisional benefit payment arrangements, you can appoint someone new. To make either of these changes, send a letter to the UWV office that is responsible for issuing your benefit and specify you want to change or remove an authorisation.
