    Sickness benefit

The Sickness Benefits Act ('de Ziektewet') is designed to provide an income for people who fall ill and do not have a permanent job and salary. You might be entitled to a sickness benefit ('Ziektewet-uitkering') if you are a casual or temporary worker ('oproep- of invalkracht'), or if your contract or employment agency contract ('uitzendovereenkomst') ends while you are ill. If you are receiving an unemployment benefit and become ill, you might be entitled to a sickness benefit instead.
