    How to use and access our UWV portals

    At UWV, we offer 2 secure portals to help you access our services online: ‘Mijn UWV’ and the Work Folder (‘Werkmap’). Please use the ‘Mijn UWV’ portal to manage all matters related to your benefits. The Work Folder is available to you if you are looking for work or want to return to work. You will be able to access both these portals by using either a DigiD account or a valid European electronic ID (‘Europees erkend inlogmiddel’)’.

    What you can do in ‘Mijn UWV’

    You will be able to do the following in the Mijn UWV environment:

    • report a change in your circumstances
    • apply for a benefit or disability support
    • report your monthly earnings
    • report sickness or inform us of your recovery
    • send and receive messages

    What you can do in your Work folder

    Your Work Folder will ensure you are able to do the following:

    • post your CV on our job board, making it easy for employers to find you
    • search and access a wide range of job vacancies
    • increase your employability by enrolling in courses or signing up for webinars
    • report changes to us or update us on your job search activities if you are receiving a benefit

    What is a DigiD account or a European electronic ID and why do you need them?

    Both DigiD and the European electronic ID are digital identification tools that allow you to access online government services and websites.

    • DigiD accounts are meant for individuals who live in the Netherlands or have lived and worked there in the past.
    • The European electronic ID is a valid login method for EU/EEA citizens who need to access Dutch government services from abroad.

    Applying for a DigiD account

    If you live in the Netherlands, visit DigiD to apply for an account. You will need a citizen service number (‘BSN’) to do this. If your application is approved, you will receive a letter with an activation code. To activate your account, please follow the instructions on the DigiD website.

    If you live outside of the Netherlands, you can apply for a DigiD account on the Netherlands Worldwide website (‘Nederland Wereldwijd’) if you meet the following criteria:

    • You have a Dutch citizen service number.
    • You have a valid passport or identity card.
    • You have a phone that can receive text messages.
    • You have an email address.

    If your application is approved, you can get your activation code in 1 of the following ways:

    Please note: You must activate your account within 21 days of your application being approved. If you do not do this, you will have to re-apply for a new account.

    Authorising someone to handle your affairs

    You can authorise someone to handle your UWV affairs on your behalf. With your permission, the person you have authorised will be able to access to any of these 4 services:

    • Mijn UWV Complete
    • Mijn UWV General and Financial Affairs
    • Mijn UWV Health
    • Werkmap

    Please note: The person you have authorised must use their own DigiD to log into the ‘Mijn UWV’ environment and the Work Folder.
