Requesting a communication support worker
If you need a communication support worker ('schrijf- of gebarentolk'), we can arrange one for you. A communication support worker can assist you during your education, at work or in daily life. We also offer communication support to your child during their education.
What will you need when completing the form?
If the request is for you:
- your citizen service number ('BSN')
- your medical report ('medisch rapport')
If the request is for a child:
- the authorisation to act on the child’s behalf ('machtiging')
- the citizen service number of the child
- the medical report of the child
How to request a communication support worker
Please complete the request form ('Aanvragen voorziening'). You will need a DigiD account to do this. Make sure to tell us what you need a communication support worker for. You will need to make a new request for every specific situation.
Decision
You will receive our decision within 8 weeks of us having received your form. However, we aim to let you know our decision within 10 working days. If we need more information from you, we will let you know.
