About what motivates René:

‘Work has a significant impact on people's happiness. My previous roles for other organisations prepared me for this challenge, but the social aspect of the UWV makes this role even more relevant. I'm very interested in the combination of the interests of citizens, the government, and companies, along with the digital challenges we are facing.’

At UWV, René Steenvoorden focuses on IV, Data Services, the BKWI, crisis management, data, and the promotion of data-driven working. UWV is in the midst of a radical transition to a public service provider that focuses on providing services to clients. René was one of the founders of XperieSense, an organisation that deploys older IT professionals to solve the shortage of staff. In addition, he is active on various advisory boards, including that of NPM Capital and the municipality of Amsterdam. Prior, he worked for Randstad as Chief Digital Officer and for Rabobank and Essent as Chief Information Officer. René studied Business Administration at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
